Both my twin grandsons love putting the coins in and then putting in the code to open the bank.This goes through batteries too quickly. I have to change them about every other day for it to work. For that reason, I don't like this bank. Meanwhile my son thinks it's great and keeps wanting me to change the batteries so that he can constantly open it after putting in his code. You enter your code and then just press the "finger print" scan button and it will allow you to turn the handle to unlock it. This is really a safe. It does have a bill slot and a change drop for putting money in like a bank. If you are going to use it to keep money in, you are going to need to put a container in so that the money doesn't overflow and spill out when you open the door. I think it would work best for letting your kids store what they consider their valuables. I wouldn't recommend actually putting anything valuable in there, because of the battery issue. I'm afraid it will just stop working and things will be stuck in there.In the attached photo, we had already ordered the gray plastic code safe for our child. That one we are very pleased with. It worked as intended, and continues to operate well and stays locked when locked. The green Meijiaba bank did not work almost immediately. First it wouldn't accept the 3 digit code at first, then I couldn't open it with either code, had to reset by removing batteries for 5 minutes, then I briefly had it working with a new code, only to find that it didn't matter whether you entered a code or not, you could always turn the knob and open at anytime. It simply doesn't lock. Within hours, the keypad and the musical function from feeding dollar bills into the bank stopped working also. Our child was very disappointed, and this is totally junk. Even if the key code were working as intended, the soft plastic side (contrast to stiff plastic on the gray one), bends where the locking mechanism is, and so it can't really hold it closed from prying hands. Buy a different one.This bank does not work well. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Very frustrating for a child when he is trying to use it. Had to hit it with my hand to get it working at one point and I should not have to do that if it is brand new out of the box. Pass on this one.I'm happy with the sounds, the ease of opening for my little one. I only wish there was a coin area or a larger lip for coins.
