Pedal Power ISO 5 is an isolated power supply for powering guitar pedal effects and accessories. It's the ultimate compact solution for smaller pedalboards, rack shelves, or even as an additional power supply for larger boards. With five isolated, filtered and regulated output sections, ISO 5 keeps even the most sensitive vintage and boutique analog pedals dead quiet. Pedal Power ISO 5 includes a high-current output which will properly power modern digital power-hungry effects like those from Eventide, Line 6, and TC Electronic. There's also a dedicated 18V output for those pedals which need the higher voltage for extra headroom. Designed to meet the needs of professional users, Pedal Power ISO 5 will provide clean, consistent power, even with the poor AC line conditions often found on stage. Completely isolated output sections eliminate ground loops and unwanted interactions between effects, resulting in lower noise and noticeably improved tone.
Five isolated outputs
Compatible with all battery operated pedals
Includes high current 9V and 12V outputs, plus dedicated 18V output
Powers Boss Twin, Eventide, Line 6 modelers, and TC Electronic Nova pedals
Linear regulation and toroidal transformer for lowest possible noise
This device is designed to operate only at 120 volts. A step up/down transformer is required for use in countries not using 120 volts.
perfect for my application, one 12 v output that produces 400 mA for a wireless charger, I had a problem with a port four years in and VooDoo labs repaired it for free no questions asked quick turn aroundawesome serviceWorks exactly as it should, and very well built. The only thing missing is a switch on the back to power off your pedalboard. In the life of every electric guitarist, pedals start to become important to your sound. Batteries provide the cleanest power but are expensive and plagued by the fact that we never can remember to unplug the cable. Dooh! The voodoo Pedal Power 2 Plus is a fine isolated power supply. I tested on my pedal board and found it only added 2-3 more dB to my ambient guitar signal (ambient as tested was 43-44dB which increased to 45-46dB). Not bad at all. Since I'm also an electrical engineer with time and parts to spare, I built a 3 channel isolated power supply out of an old PC ATC power supply (which uses a switching power supply rather than the voodoo linear power supply). I put in about $20 of parts I got on Ebay, and was able to build a supply that I'm happy with, and performed very similar to the voodoo. I could not make a distinction audibly, but when I tested it with my dB meter, it did add about 6-7dB above ambient (ambient was the same as above and sound increased to about 51-53). I'm not surprised it did worse given the underlying supply is switching type, which inherently are noisier. So a little worse than voodoo, but like I said that 6-7dB difference was hardly noticeable in the room, and for 20 bucks and a little bit of solder, I'm pretty happy with the results! The reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 are the following:-Current limits are absolutely appalling low 100mA, except for 5-6 which can go to 250mA. As more fancy Line6 and other pedals that demand more power come into to play, you'll find yourself tapped out quick and needing the more expensive Pedal Power DIGITAL model. My RC30 looper pedal needs almost 200mA, so even that is borderline. For comparison, my 3 isolated power channels can do 1-2amps (I have it fused to 2amp) per channel thanks to nice heat sinks and a robust fan. The size of mine is not much bigger than the pedal power 2.-What's with the short cables? 18" is not enough for most pedal boards even if you put the the supply in the center (and I don't want to do that). I ended up making my own cables. Perhaps if you have the kind that goes under the board you're ok, but I don't have one like that and neither do other people. Voodoo labs does carry longer cables (24" and 36") on their website. There are not decent quality right angle plugs sold anywhere(at least I haven't found them). Otherwise I would make my own cables.-Only 6 right angle cables? Who even uses the straights anymore? With the cost of pedal board space so high, it makes no sense. More cables please!-It really would benefit from a power switch in my opinion. I guess people put this in a place that can't be reached? But still. A switch would be nice.-Pricey. Look, I know you have to pay to get good stuff, but this this too much. A lot of other good isolated supplies out there are being made and not nearly this much. Probably is 40 overpriced.Pros:-Yes, there are alot of good things about this that people have already comment on. Clean power, helps cut down hiss, reliable, works well with pedaltrain (if you have one...). All true, so I won't dwell on what's already been mentioned.-Fantastic customer service! I sent an email asking a question and they gave me a call a few hours later. They listened carefully to my problem and found me a satisfactory solution very quickly. The representative was very courteous and had excellent customer service skills. I was very impressed!4 stars. Good but pricey, poorly thought out cablesI own more than one and love them. This power supply is not cheap and will run you as much as an expensive effect pedal. That said I tried the cheap route and bought a couple Otraki Power Supplies which turned out to be a disaster. They were so noisy and my pedals emitted a lot of noise when engaged. I had to use a noise gate pedal to suppress it and make the setup usable. I finally decided to return them and invest in the Mondo. The difference is night and day. This thing is dead silent and I can use this one supply for all my pedals going to the preamp stage. I have a separate supply for my FX loop pedals. It is so versatile. You even have a couple outputs with a power sag feature. I wish the cables were a little longer but they work just fine. I Just have to be careful when moving my board around. This thing is too big to mount so having a little extra length would have been nice. I tested plugging my guitar directly into the amp versus running it through the board and the amp floor noise was the same. If you are going to invest in a pedal board array versus a multi effects board then you have to invest in A. A high quality power supply and B. High quality cables. As I have read, a pedal board is only as good as it's weakest link.If you have the money, and see yourself using it, get one of these. For years, I resisted getting a Power 2 Plus because of the high ticket price, but honestly if i had gotten one of these initially, i would have saved hundreds of dollars.Over the years I have tried a number of similar products (including one-spot), and have had to buy (and subsequently lose!) lots of individual power supply units for pedals. The Power 2 Plus sounds way better than individual PSUs and one-spot style IMO. Greatly reduces noise, which is huge for me. It's small and well built, with mountings available for various pedal boards. It's easier to plug in to the outlet (PC style power cable). And with fewer parts, you're less likely to misplace stuff at the gig. That said, probably some kind of board or carrying apparatus should still be used.10/10 for me. These are very nice unitsThere’s nothing to dislike about this. I played two tube amps played in stereo and I have 10 pedals hooked up and there is zero buzz hum or hiss. This is the best power supply you could ever have. My pedals actually sound better because of the steady continuous power source.Been years and I dropped it once from about a foot. This thing is solid. Not sure about their pedals and other stuff but their power supplies are solid. They have different cables to connect my line6 and mxr 10 band eq too so it’s easy to consolidate all your connections. Worth the money. It’s great for people that want to expand their board later on. If you think you’ll need even more outputs than this you can get splitters or even better, a Mondo. They’re seriously an industry standard.Like a lot of US-made products, this is decent quality and functional but over-priced for what it is. £80 would be about the right price instead of the price I paid (£145), which has risen to £162 within a week of purchase. At the end of the day, it's a just power supply and once installed you probably won't ever think about it again.I've had the Voodoo 4x4 for one day and have had a quick play with it. First impressions are its a very well-built, solid unit. Quite weighty. This is good in terms of durability, but will add a bit of weight to the pedal board. I've only tried the 9v outputs and cables with low draw pedals and everything is fine. Quiet operation. I have a cheap daisy chain style power supply for my 9v pedals and I cant hear any significant difference betwen the noise levels between that and the 4x4. The main thing I'm looking forward to is having the right cables to power my Helix Stomp so I have only one power source for my board.I was having noise issues with the 'Caline Power 5' gifted to me by my singer, so i searched high and low for a affordable power supply unit that could promise me a noiseless supply of power and although not as cheap as i'd like this came up and i found out it had isolated inputs each with their unshared power and glory i was stoked..But the price still bugged me so carrying on with my research i found out that one of my own pedals the EHX Micro Pog was a hungry little basted and a competitor Fuel tank Classic couldn't cater for such a hungry pedal, the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 could! and just being able to turn my amp on and hear absolutely jack all is worth the money by itself let alone the other options power levels and SAG mode which gives an authentic battery running out experience for your pedal, that sounds bad.. but if you know you know. All in all worth the dosh and 10/10 would recommend.Rock-solid power supply. My old I currently have my power blocks attached to the bottom of my custom pedal board, i currently have two, one powering each side of the board. Its and understatement to say that i am impressed, i bought a cheaper version a year ago when i had a much smaller pedal board and well it buzzed a lot. This one however has no buzz at all and the ability to change the voltage is brilliant. It can power anything, i have an FM4 powered by it using the red cable and it works fine!
