This cable works with OWC's mercury elite pro, on a Toshiba G65 laptop that has an eSATA port.My laptop only supports eSATA 3G, but the connection- a crucial SSD- was about 20% faster than when I connected the drive by USB3.Using was simple... just plug the drive side eSATA and DC cable, and plug the other side into my laptop.A reasonable alternative if this cable is compatible with your drive and your gear doesn't support eSATApd.
