I am using this with a Sedna PeSATA / SATAp type PCI adapter and it has been working great. Because the SATA signalling and power are coming from the PC itself, there is much less or external noise from an external powered device (wall wart). I've tried this with a HDD dock, DVD optical drive, and several HDDs with no problem. Very happy to have found this.
