Jeremiah has a wonderful book here from some of us who have already become set apart to the Lord with our lives in every way. He urges the people of God to look to the King and make themselves ready as the Bride. Many in the church consider themselves the bride of Christ, but you cannot be the bride until you have been servant, then a friend, then a son, and then you become a bride. This message is for the people of God, who want to be exclusively the passion of the Bridegroom King. This self same Holy Spirit had Jeremiah also bring these two passages to light as key passages that we need to obey as the bride of Christ. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.The people of the church are being taught that you can have all he very best of the world, and still be right with God. John says that this sort of life is anti-God.The second passage is:James 4:4 New King James Version (NKJV)4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.You may want to skirt around the issue, but you might want to ask yourself, how many of God's enemies is he going let into heaven?Many people view consecration and holiness as having a life free of sin. That is only part of it.
